Encircle’s Video Summary tool helps you turn on-site recordings into clear, structured documentation, without stopping to type. Instead of manually writing notes or relying on raw video, you can generate professional summaries directly from your video transcripts.
Here are some common use cases:
- Site Walkthroughs: A tech records a video while walking through a loss site, narrating damages as they see them.
- Instant Note Generation: Creating a "Cause of Loss" summary or "Damage Assessment" for a report is much easier and quicker via voice and video - especially while holding a flashlight or moving equipment.
- Office Review: Office staff can quickly read a summary of a 5-minute video instead of watching the entire clip to understand what’s happening in the field.
- Multi-lingual crews: Allow crews to create video documentation in their most comfortable, native language
*Language support: Videos can be captured in 100+ languages, transcribed, translated and then summarized into either English or French.
Creating a Video Summary
Your field staff have the ability to create video summaries in the mobile app. You can also do this in the web app.
- Open a room video.
-
Click Summarize.
- Select your preferred language for the output (English or French).
-
Click Summarize.
-
The AI engine will work in the background - feel free to close the video during this time or wait for the summary to complete. This may take up to a few minutes.
- If you’ve closed the video, the AI icon will change color when it’s done processing. Open the video.
-
Click Summary.
-
Review the summary.
The transcript will also be available in the original recorded language.
Adding a Summary to a Note
To make the summary available for your reports, it needs to be added to a note.
- Click Add to New Note.
-
Select General Note or Room Note.
-
The new note will open - this may take a few moments.
-
Within the note, you can make edits to the summary as needed. You may want to rename the note to something more specific like "Damage Description", "Job Overview", "Day 2 Summary", etc.
