I work with a 3rd party estimator. Can they do the Xactimate import?
Yes! In order for a 3rd party estimator to import an Xactimate sketch from a Floor Plan created by you, they must:
- Have an Encircle account (they can use Encircle for free as long as they are only receiving job shares and not creating job files).
- Be shared on the job.
- Have Xactimate integration enabled in their own Encircle account.
- Use the Floor Plan ID available in the shared Encircle job.
- Enter their own email address in the data request (because they were shared on the claim).
In short, you are able to share the job with the estimator so that they can do the Xactimate import. As the job file owner, the import will be billed to you.
What if my 3rd party estimator doesn’t have Encircle?
We suggest one of these two options:
- You import the floor plan into an Xactimate file > then share an ESX with the estimator.
- The estimator creates an ESX file > then shares it with you to open in your instance of Xactimate. You import the sketch from Encircle > then send the entire ESX file back to the estimator.
