Drying Chamber |
Part of an efficient drying strategy, drying chambers reduce the size of the space down to only the wet and affected area allowing you to manipulate the humidity, airflow, and temperature. A drying chamber is defined as part of a room, a room, a series of rooms, a floor, or even an entire wing of a building that shares the same controlled air space. |
A drying chamber could be a single room, or the entire main floor or the entire basement, or it can be a series of rooms that are connected together where you then shelter them off with a piece of poly or some other containment.
In Hydro, you’ll want to set up your drying chambers to match whatever your physical chamber set up is.
Drying Chamber Setup
- Open the Drying Chamber task.
- Select the room(s) for your chamber. If you need to add a room, tap the + button.
- Mark each room as Affected (the room contains wet materials) or Unaffected (the room does not contain wet materials). *Including unaffected rooms is important because they will count toward your total chamber size when it comes time to do equipment calculations later.
- Tap Done.
- Enter a name for your drying chamber.
- Tap Complete Task if done, or tap Add Another Chamber and repeat the process for any additional chambers as needed.
Once your Drying Chamber task is complete, you’ll have unlocked a bunch of tasks in the list. For each chamber on the job, you’ll have a set of chamber-specific tasks like moisture maps, readings, room dimensions, and equipment.
